Information
East
Elementary serves a diverse student population of approximately 605 students in
grades kindergarten through third grade. The main building was
constructed in 1926 with two additions built in 1986 and 1998.
Our school is located one block from Main Street. Each
classroom has three computers for students, one teacher
computer, and two printers which enhance our learning environment.
All 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classes have Promethean boards and
document cameras. Two 5K classes also have Promethean boards.
Awards

East Elementary School has received the
Twenty-Five Year Regional Accreditation from the Commission on Elementary
and Middle Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The school also was a School Incentive Reward winner for eleven out
of twelve years that it was offered.
The school is proud to announce that all classroom teachers, our physical
education teacher, and art teacher have won 3 student computers, 1 teacher
computer, and two printers for their classrooms through a grant offered by
our district. |

Award for a family friendly school. |

East Elementary was also awarded the Palmetto Silver Award for the 2001-2002 school
year and the Palmetto Gold Award were awarded during the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004
school years.
